An innovative Summer school

The second edition of the TULIP summer school held near Bagnères-de-Bigorre just ended. In conjunction with the LabEx TULIP spirit, the 2013 Summer school gathered two scientific communities: molecular biologists and ecologists. With enthusiasm and passion, students coming from 11 different countries around the world, had the opportunity to discover the diversity and richness of our regional scientific community through visits, courses and workshops scheduled throughout the 7 days of intensive training.

Participants Summer school2013

In conjunction with the LabEx TULIP spirit, the 2013 Summer school gathered two scientific communities: molecular biologists and ecologists. Through conferences given by famous international scientists about subjects of interest such as the "zombies" plants of S. Kamoun or questions such as “Is mother nature short-sighted?” by H. Kokko, the students collaborated in four workgroups to provide their own point of view by generating four projects on general themes.

Besides this intensive work, a day of hiking in the Pyrénées allowed to give some “air” and  created a friendly atmosphere within the student groups as well as with their supervisors. In summary, this revisited version of the 2012 formula, received a real enthusiasm from both students and professors.
