Results of the "New Frontiers for INTERFACE" Call

4 projects have been selected for a total of €500k in funding under the New Frontiers for INTERFACE call. 4 other projects were also selected to be on a waiting list for funding.

Objectives

With a budget of 550 k€, this new call aims to fund original research projects at the interface between Ecology/Evolution and Mechanistic biology which is the biggest ambition and the biggest challenge of TULIP. The proposed projects should fall within one or more of the TULIP MTRs and should lie at the interface between mechanistic biology and ecology and/or evolutionary biology. The project must bring together teams (2 or more) from different laboratories, at least one of which must be attached to the LabEx TULIP. At least one of the PIs of the project must be a member of the LabEx.

Duration and funding

The projects will be financed with a budget including 18 to 24 months of post-doctorate salary (this will depend on whether or not the funds committed by the LabEx can be used after 31 December 2024) supplemented by research support funds (approximately 30 K€). These funds can be used for all types of expenses: operations (including small equipment with a unitary value of less than 4 k€ HT), subcontracting, missions, conferences... Only equipment (investment) is not eligible.

Results

The New Frontiers for INTERFACE call for proposals resulted in the funding of 4 projects, out of the 12 that were submitted (representing over €1,5M requested).

*update 2024: the first 2 projects on the waiting list have been financed following the regularization of budgets.
