Job Offer : specialist biologist in "NGS sequencing"

The Bio-Environnement technological platform is recruiting a 12-month engineering degree on January 1, 2020 on its genomics platform. This position will be dedicated to high-throughput sequencing activities (NGS Illumina type, mainly). The CDD will eventually be renewable in 2021 depending on the activity of the plateau. For this position, we are looking for a BAC +5 in genomics and / or molecular biology, with, if possible, proven experience (a few months or years) in NGS sequencing.

MISSION(S)

The Engineer's mission will be to develop and conduct high-throughput sequencing approaches within the platform, interacting with other genomic platform personnel.

ACTIVITY(IES)

- Advise users on technical possibilities, their limitations, interpretation of raw results, and follow up
- Select and adapt the bank preparation (DNA & RNA) and high throughput sequencing protocols (NextSeq & MiSeq Illumina) to user needs
- Implement the bank preparation protocols in manual and / or robot and carry out quality controls
- Write reports of experience and formalize the follow-up of the samples from the reception to the delivery of the data
- Participate in the management of technical and financial resources
- Welcome and train users in high throughput sequencing approaches and associated molecular biology techniques (PCR, qPCR, ...)
- Participate in scientific and technological intelligence on broadband sequencing approaches and bank preparation methods, in connection with scientific referents
- Ensure the application of health and safety rules, and participate in the implementation of a quality approach

SKILLS

Knowledge :
Mastery of molecular biology principles (DNA, RNA manipulation, quality control, PCR, electrophoresis); In-depth knowledge of various broadband sequencing strategies and tools, including Illumina; General knowledge on the organization and the functioning of the genomes (genomes, epigenomes, transcriptomes, epitranscriptomes, metagenomes, ...) and the analysis of communities by sequencing of amplicons; English level B2
Know-how :
Implementation of quantification techniques and quality control of samples; Preparation of DNA (genomic, barcoding) and / or RNAseq (RNAseq) libraries for NGS; Use of Illumina sequencers (NextSeq and MiSeq, ideally), Mastery of office automation tools; Team work.
The mastery of a pipetting robot (ideally Perkin Elmer) and / or Nanopore technology will be a plus.
Know-how :
Rigor; Organizational skills; Autonomy ; Analytical reasoning ability; Relational capabilities for interactions with colleagues and users.
