Phytopathology Technician Job Offer at LIPM

Fixed-term contract of 5 months, from March 1st, 2019 to July 31st, 2019. Recruitment level BAC + 2 maximum. We are looking for a candidate with good knowledge and possibly experience in the fields of plant breeding and microbiology. Molecular biology skills would be a plus. The candidate must be motivated, rigorous and organized.

Missions:

- Seeding, transplanting, followed by cultivation of Arabidopsis thaliana plants in soil and in vitro,

- Culture of bacterial strains, inoculation of plants

- Daily notation of the onset of disease symptoms,

- Enumeration of bacteria in planta,

- Data management on Excel spreadsheet, statistical analysis.

- Microscopy

- RNA extraction and Q-RT-PCR

Monthly remuneration: 1593 € gross.

The candidate will work in the stimulating scientific environment of the Plants-Microorganisms Interactions Laboratory (LIPM) (http://www.toulouse.inra.fr/lipm), which has more than 20 years of experience in genetics and molecular analysis of interactions between plants and pathogenic or symbiotic microorganisms. The LIPM is a component of the laboratory of excellence TULIP (https://www.labex-tulip.fr/) and belongs to the Institut Fédératif FR3450 (https://www.fraib.fr/) which gathers experts in the fields of microbiology, plant development, phytopathology, symbiosis, ecology, biodiversity and evolution.
