Birds help understanding Life

Philipp Heeb, Virginie Stevens, Pascal Marrot and Ingela Alger share their views concerning birds as species of interest for research in evolutionary and behavioral biology. Coffee-debate on Tuesday October 17th at 6 pm at the « Café du Quai ».

« Homme, tu m’étonnes » is a cycle of interdisciplinary meetings around the human nature, its environments and its questioning, organized by the CNRS Midi-Pyrenees and the Museum of Toulouse. In 2017, they take the form of coffee-debates within the framework of the « Cafés du Quai des savoirs ».

During this first coffee, discussion will concern birds as model species, particularly for research in evolutionary and behavioral ecology. Understanding processes of mate choice, or of transmission of information in natural or controlled environments is a key issue for the understanding of the Life in general, with - perhaps more surprisingly - implications in economics.
