PhD Position Grant competition results

This year, the TULIP GS has awarded 6 full PhD grants via its PHD Position Grant competition. Discover the list of winners who will start their PhD in 2024.

For this 2023-2024 edition, TULIP Graduate School received around twenty applications for the PHD Position Grant competition.

After an initial selection phase, the applications were forwarded to the Advisory Board, which selected the 6 winners :

Almary Tchana Ornella Mariany, a graduate of the University of Antananarivo in Madagascar, will soon be joining the EDB laboratory. Her thesis will be entitled "Evaluating the sustainability of rural Malagasy landscapes: A population genetics perspective", under the supervision of Jordi Salmona, Lounes Chikhi and Stéphanie Carrière.

Boisdron Arnaud, a graduate of the Master FBE program, will join the EDB and LRSV laboratories in early 2024. He will be working on "A transitional phase bridging the gap between saprotrophy and biotrophy" under the supervision of Monique Gardes and Christophe Roux.

Cotton Anaïs, a second-year student in the FBE Master's program, will be joining the EDB laboratory and the IPHC after graduation. Her subject is "Integrating physiology, behavior and reproductive investment: a comprehensive study of stress resistance in king penguins", under the supervision of Pierrick Blanchard and Antoine Stier.

Katidou Vasiliki, a graduate of the University of Crete, will join the LRSV in early 2024. Her thesis topic is "Effect of heat stress on anther development in Arabidopsis", under the supervision of Artemis Perraki and Jean-Philippe Galaud.

Laporte Naïs, also in her second year of the FBE Master's program, will be joining the EDB laboratory and the Saupe Lab in Oxford after graduation. Her subject is "Niche evolution, diversification and the emergence of the present day Latitudinal Diversity Gradient", under the supervision of Jonathan Rolland and Erin Saupe.

Mercier Chiara, a student in the Master 2 of Biodiversity, Ecology and Evolution program at UT3, will be joining the EDB and IHPE laboratories on graduation. Her thesis topic is "improving the quantification and detection of pathogens associated with freshwater ecosystems using approaches based on environmental nucleic acids", under the supervision of Géraldine Loot and Olivier Rey.
