Renewed success for the Autumn School of Integrative Biology and Ecology

The Autumn School of Integrative Biology and Ecology of the ADAM (Adaptation, Development and Plants Improvement in association with Microorganisms) and EE (Ecology and Evolution) masters took place from September 19 to 21, 2018 in Suc et Sentenac. An opportunity to mix ecologist-evolutionist communities and mechanistic biologists, gathered for this fifth edition.

Organized by members of the TULIP community and funded by the LabEx, this school was again extremely rich in exchanges between the two communities, either during the project presentations by the students, which raised numerous and relevant questions, or during the informal exchanges occurring during the meeting.

This year, the participants were also able to exchange with Mr. J. Delord, philosopher of science, which allowed all the students to exchange ideas around common questions such as the limit between science and non-science. The oral presentation was followed by free discussions on student’s topics of interest (creationism, applied / fundamental science, etc.), with a philosophical approach.
