The Economics & Ecology Master is recruiting!

The Economics & Ecology Master curriculum supported by the IAST and TULIP LabExes provides students with a unique expertise in the analysis of the effects of human activities on biodiversity and ecosystems, and of how these may be mitigated by economic policy.

Students will have the opportunity to study advanced methods in economics and in ecology that will allow them to analyze a variety of environmental questions with an integrated approach. News laws are creating the niche for new jobs at the interface between ecology and economics. This is the goal of this interdisciplinary Master to train students at this interface.

All courses are taught in English and multi-disciplinary: economics courses are given by faculty members and researchers of the Toulouse School of Economics (Université Toulouse 1 Capitole) and ecology courses by faculty members and researchers of the laboratories 'Évolution & Diversité Biologique' and 'Station d’Écologie Théorique et Expérimentale' (Université Toulouse 3 Paul Sabatier).

Graduates of the program may envisage careers in governmental bodies (at national and local levels), supranational organizations, large companies, NGOs, think tanks, as well as in research.

Key features of the Master

  • A mix of theoretical concepts and empirical methods
  • Assignments based on real cases
  • Assignments requiring teamwork
  • An end-of-program workshop provides students with an opportunity to network with practitioners and former students

Upon successful completion of the program, students registered at TSE will be granted an Economics of the Environment and natural resources MSc diploma by TSE; students registered at UT3 will be granted a Biodiversity, Ecology and Evolution MSc diploma by UT3.
