6th International Bacterial Wilt Symposium, 3rd-7th July 2016

The 6th edition of the International Bacterial Wilt Symposium was organized by LIPM members from 3 till 7 July this year. A unique occasion of exchanges around Ralstonia solanacearum, a bacteria attacking numerous cultures of economic importance causing major damages in agriculture in numerous countries, in particular in tropical and subtropical zones.

This event, taking place every 5 years, gathers various actors involved in the study and the control of the bacterial withering caused by the bacteria Ralstonia solanacearum: researchers, agronomists, farmers, public decision-makers and private enterprises. During these 4 days of symposium, various speakers exposed a big diversity of subjects, going from gene characterization to the development of the Bacterial Wilt disease to the cultural practices in the field. 2016 session organized by LIPM researchers and sponsored by LabEx TULIP gathered 110 participants from 23 different countries in the INP-ENSAT facilities.
